Pussycat's Scherzinger pulls out of F1 Rocks

Nicole ScherzingerSeptember 15, 2009

HEARTBREAK has led Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger to pull out of hosting the F1 Rocks Singapore With LG concert here. British tabloid the Daily Mirror reported on Sunday that McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton, 24, has broken up with the bootylicious singer, ending their two-year relationship — and speculation that the pair were about to get engaged.

The power couple would have been the big draw at the Singapore Grand Prix, which begins next Friday.

Scherzinger, 31, would have been here to act as a compere for F1 Rocks, the three-day concert that begins next Thursday.

It will see acts like Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas performing at Fort Canning Park.

But a Los Angeles source told the Mirror: "She doesn't want to be within 20 feet of (Hamilton) right now... She's very upset about being ditched and needs time out."

Mr Paul Morrison, chief executive officer and chief operating officer of British-based events company All The Worlds - the concert promoter behind F1 Rocks - told my paper that Scherzinger pulled out from F1 Rocks late last week.

"She doesn't feel it's right to be in the F1 environment at the moment, and she's feeling a bit awkward post-breakup," he said.

The company is looking for a new host for F1 Rocks, which will be broadcast on television in 140 countries.

That host would fly in early next week to begin filming segments for the TV production of the concert. At press time, Mr Morrison would not say who was being considered as Scherzinger's replacement.
